Davinci resolve studio 17.4.112/17/2023 ![]() ![]() Now you have the locked Icon plus two “last used” DaVinci icons in the dock. Do the Color Management “thingy”, and again kill the application. ![]() If you restart DaVinci now, it seems to work. ![]() Often the session is now added to the “three app list” of last used applications on the Dock - in addition to the inactivate Icon always kept in the Dock. It is now absolutely required to “strangle” DaVinci Result via the Esc-Option-Command menu:Īnd hope for the best. Often ending up with no - NO - read/write activity at all for my internal and external drives accumulated (in a full, system, you need a completely dead app in focus, to see that, and even then mail and all the other tasks always run, so it's only for short periods, the zeroes are displayed as a contrast to up to hundred or so megabytes per second read and up to a few hundred megabytes per second written, when DaVinci is alive and doing it's own thing). Select “Project Settings”, “Color Management” and instead of “DaVinci YRGB” select “DaVinci YRGB Color Managed” (sorry for using Capital letters, but… DaVinci forces me to do it in order to display the correct option text and the moment the selection has been completed, and saved, the “Activity Indicator” goes bananas. It is one hundred percent reproducible on my system. The real clanger is this (from the Edit section - haven’t wasted time on checking other sections: That may be as it is - I’ll just use Final Cut Pro instead, and ask myself, why I even paid for the joy and pain of even just starting up a simple one ProRES 422 25fps less than 20 minutes big single file project just to decide, what is to be used or not of the content. So… conclusion time: Davinci Resolve 17.4.1 Studio is not ideal for 360 degree media on even Apple M1 Silicon (acquired before current chip releases). Then I cannot see, where and what to cut or leave in the timeline.ĭid I mention, that Final Cut Pro 10.6 is not that coy even when DaVinci is humming along in the background and FCPX was (erroneously) started, things hummed along, with a very slight “wheeze” from the Mac mini cooling system - obviously a bit stretched - but still barely audible). If I disable the “Fusion parts”, things perform much better, alas…. From a given position, it may take a from a few seconds to near a minute, to display the content - even if only a hundred or more frames apart. Now, I could “dab and click” on certain parts of the timeline, alas, that also wastes a lot of time. DaVince Resolve becomes more or less unresponsive, while noise reduction oozes along at an extremely slow speed - typically 1 (one) frame from time to time - display showing 0.5fps - and looking at Fusion, each “item” is bubbling along, highlighted within a second, the next “wave” etc.ġ7 minutes 14 second and 16 frames at 25fps equals 25866 frames - even at 1 (one) or 2 (fps) it will take some time to play the file (somewhat over 7 hours). Transform1, which simple flips the image horizontally (left/right reversal is required in Davinci Resolve, not in Final Cut Pro) and NoiseReduction1, the latter also active in Final Cut Pro, that seems to have no problems keeping up with 25 fps display, conversion and similar “view adjustments” - even while noise reduction is running at full “uuumphhh” in the background. ![]()
